 FIREARM SAFETY, WEAPON STORAGE, HANDGUN SHOOTING SKILLS, CONCEALED CARRY, HOME DEFENSE AND MORE Owning a handgun, whether it is a pistol or a revolver, requires a knowledge of the four basic handgun safety rules, training of proper handling, aiming and firing. Sure Fire Training is a certified handgun trainer. 
OUR  CERTIFICATE TRAINING 
BASIC HANDGUN
You will learn the universal safety rules, how to clear a handgun, understand a handguns action, understanding a revolver, understanding semi-automatics.

​You will discover which handgun is right for you.  You will find the differences in handgun ammunition.

Find out what to do with a malfunction.

There will be an introduction to home defense shotguns and the AR15 platform.

 Plus there will an introduction to other use of force options. 
CONCEALED CARRY
We will discuss developing a personal and home plan. 
We will include:

  • conflict avoidance,
  • situational awareness,
  • conceal carry permit responsibility,
  • handgun safety,
  • defensive shooting fundamentals,
  • legal use of force,
  • violent encounters and the aftermath,
  • handgun accessories,
  • creating a training program.​
HOME DEFENSE
We will define a personal protection plan, why conflict avoidance is so important, home security, castle doctrine, home alarms and how to prepare mentally.

We will provide an understanding of different firearm defensive tools, the operation, ammunition, gauges, AR-15.

​We will review defensive shooting fundamentals
  • defensive shooting verses marksmanship,
  • proper grip,
  • muzzle alignment
  • unsighted fire
  • trigger control
  • useful exercises ​

I offer seven 1 hour mini-courses: Personal and Home Protection; Self Defense Firearm Basics; Defensive Shooting; Legal Use of Force; Violent Encounter and Aftermath; Gear and Gadgets; Basic and Advanced Skills

Concealed carry refresher course

I am now offering a refresher course for those who have previously passed a concealed carry handgun course with me.  This will include classroom time to review the basics, individual demonstration on proper handgun safety (using a demo handgun), knowledge of legal requirements and range time shooting at a target at different distances.  Student must be their original certificate of completion.

Since I never owned or used a hand gun, this course was ideal for me in several ways..Class instruction was the most vital part in understanding the proper handling of any handgun as was your instruction on the proper procedures on clearing the handgun.
The time I used at the range was a real eye opener...I realized it would require lots of trips to the range to get comfortable but all in all I was quite happy with the results...
Your repeated emphasis on safety throughout the three hours was well appreciated..

I enjoyed your basic handgun class very much. I was apprehensive at first since I had never handled a gun. Three hours went by very quickly because the class was so enjoyable and very entertaining. I realize now that it was necessary to spend a lot of time on proper gun safety. I thought it was important for the several people in our class with hearing difficulties to have a woman that was able to use sign language to get your information across. I had a bad leg and wasn't able to shoot very much in the range since my balance was off but I left knowing that I could handle the gun. My husband and I are going to purchase a smaller gun that will fit my hand better and I look forward to taking more of your classes in the future,
